The first thing everyone notices when they join EF is our company culture. We share the same love for fun, adventure and teaching. It’s our people who make EF such a dynamic and fun place to work.
Our centers and offices have been specifically designed to make the working environment relaxed and open, and that’s the way our teams work.
As a teacher, you will teach 5 consecutive days each week. This means that you can get into a regular schedule and plan exciting trips on your days off, relax or pursue your hobbies and interests.
Although most teachers work weekends, you will still have two consecutive days off a week. Also, your friends and colleagues who teach will share similar days off. You can visit the same places you would on the weekends, but without the crowds.
We have many different activities for our teachers to take part in across China, ranging from Chinese courses to wellness and fitness classes, online workshops and even teacher forums. There’s always something to do for our teachers to create connections and enjoy life in China.
As soon as you accept a teaching position with us, you can start learning straight away. You will be given access to our online learning platform, Chinesetown.
You can go ahead and book your first class and continue with us for as long as you are with EF. Chinese classes are held for all levels from beginner to advanced, and you can even take face-to-face classes when you arrive.
In your first few weeks, you will go through onboarding training. This will be an introduction to teaching local learners, followed by a refresher on teaching methodologies that you covered in your TEFL course.
You will have weekly CPD (continual professional development) sessions in your center, and you can even enroll in our free teacher training courses (TKT) or in one of the following internationally recognized teaching qualification courses.
Watch our teachers share their stories about how they inspire their students, and how their students, in turn, inspire them.
