Amy started her TESOL career in 2001 at Sichuan University. Since then, she has taught English to a wide range of learners in both China, Jordan, and the US.
She joined English 1 English Centers in 2010 as a teacher eventually working her way up to Center Education Manager of two adult language centers before joining the Teacher Recruitment & Training team in 2018. She is currently the Certifications Training Manager for Yingfu based in Beijing.
Amy is passionate about promoting continuous professional development. As a trainer, she has been a Course Director for CertTESOL and a tutor for both the DipTESOL and CertPT. More recently, she spends her time managing online courses catering to new managers while also working closely with fellow trainers to design and upgrade courses to meet the evolving needs of teachers. Beyond online courses, Amy is always seeking opportunities to connect with colleagues in person through conferences, trainings, and observations.
Outside of work, Amy is an avid martial artist who has trained for more than thirty-five years. She can also be found lifting wieghts in the gym, running Spartan races, or relaxing at home with her cat and dog.
Special Interests: learning transfer, communication, and the application of management concepts applied in a language management context.
Qualifications: BA in History, MA in Asian Studies, CELTA, Trinity Diploma in TESOL, International Diploma in Language Teaching Management
